First of all, this smells so much better than all other retinaldehyde 0.1 creams I've tried, I generally hate the smell of them as they smell like some sort of chemical cleaners (especially Avene one), but this one is pretty nice - something like subtle apple drink powder.
Retinol products are a long term game and it's hard to rate efficiency of them or what can it do for your skin depending on concerns. For me I'm using it to slow-down wrinkle forming as I'm in my late 20s, reduce some pigmentation like freckles and help smooth texture, my skin is mostly smooth except for problematic spots on temples and jaw.
I've been using retinaldehydes 0.1% for over a year now with only 10-20% visible improvement (therefore was looking for a stronger formula), so it will be a while before I'll see what actual results this serum will bring but I'm convinced it's much more potent than other 0.1% retinal creams and will be buying more to use it for a year straight.
Now why I'm convinced is because my face doesn't care about retinal/retinol products and never reacts to it but my neck is a different story, It always get's a retinol burn (irritated red and itchy skin) after 4-5 consecutive days of usage and last for 1-3 days when I stop using them and apply healing ointments - so I decided to try this serum/cream on my neck as it was the only quick indication I could see if this is potent. And oooh boy, after 4-5 days of use I started seeing retinol burn as usual, stopped it and used healing ointment more heavily than usual because this burn lasted me over a week.
So I'm pretty sure that this works as far as retinol/retinal mix serums go. And this is probably one of the most potent formulas on the market that's not prescription.
This may sound weird for a retinol, but this feels almost nurishing and moisturising! I have tried 3 retinols before this product with much lower concentration and my skin was always irritated. But this does not do that at all, although there are a few retinoid components in here. The texture is like a veeery lightweight cream and 1-2 pumps is more than enough. I will be repurchasing!
