I got the tinted mineral sunscreen-dark and I love love love it! Been obsessed w sunscreens lately and due to my acne prone, sensitive skin, im stuck relying on mineral sunscreen and, by extension, the tinted versions. This one and the Beauty of Joseon have to be my absolute favorite! This one may just take the cake however bc its 2x bigger than the BoJ bottles and the shade is a perfect blend between the two shades I use for BoJ. I got it on sale and I have to restrain myself from stocking up with another bottle lol 😆 definitely a 10/10 and transparent labs has a faithful customer in me now!
I have: dry and sensitive skin. Upon application, this sunscreen is stinging!!! Asked AI what could be the reason as I made sure no chemical filters which I know am allergic to aren't in this formula, as boosters. It seems the peptides might be the reason for my stinging. Or the Licorice root. Or the other plant based skin care ingredients. Moving forward, I applied the recommend dose of 1/2 teaspoon on face. My God, that is a lot of sunscreen! At some point my skin felt flooded with this cream, it couldn't take it anymore. I waited about 1h, the cream was still wet and transferring when I was touching it. So I decided to "put it in her place" with some powder. The rest of the day went on smoothly after that. After several hours, I noticed that I had some lines around my eyes, but other that that, it was good. For me, the finish was natural, a bit glowy which I like, but as the hours passed, skin became dull because by then the sunscreen was as my skin - dry :-) However, it didn't crumble and I very much appreciate. I wish dry skin persons could also have more options of hydrating (but REALLY hydrating) tinted mineral sunscreens. From this formula, my bf Glycerin is missing, for example. I did not reapply the sunscreen today as I was in hof, hiding from the sun. Shade wise, Medium on me is quite dark and I have the feeling Light will be ..well.. too light, for my summer shade. There are no in between shades and that's a bummer.
If you look closely at the pictures in all the shades, you can see that the models for the light and medium tints have a slight white cast, but somehow the model for the dark shade has no white cast. That makes it very unlikely to me that the model is actually wearing the sunscreen.
The tinted sunscreen in dark gives a dark grey undertone. I really wanted it to work out so I tried to add a bit of concealer under my eyes and powder foundation all over, but the colour is so off that it was impossible to correct, unfortunately. Removal was really difficult too, as it clings to you skin, towels, sink, and any make-up brushes that it comes into contact with, I have to triple cleanse to take it off. It was a waste of money, not recommended for dark skin tones.
I got this sunscreen in shade “Dark”. It is quite fluid and it applies easily, it is not hard to rub it either. It is not matte or dry touch or dewy, it has a natural finish.
Now for the cons: this sunscreen makes me look like a ghost, even with the tint (you know that look you get when you’ve applied too much foundation and all the natural highlights and contours of you face disappear?) Yeah, that how I look wearing this, keep in mind I did not even apply the full recommended amount of 1/4 or 1/2 tsp, I only applied 3 DROPS!! on one half of my face and it looks terrible, so I can’t even image how much worse this would look if you actually apply the correct amount!!! 😣 Also the top of the bottle leaks product. After 1 hour of wear my eye started bothering me, I am so disappointed.
I can’t wear this out anywhere and I can’t return it either so that’s CAD40 down the drain for me.
