PIE vs PIH

Hyperpigmentation. We have the solution.

Spots on the skin? Not all are the same, depending on their cause, the treatment should also be different. At Transparent Lab we are pioneers by addressing pigmentation as an area for specialization.

Can you tell the difference?

Follow this advice and you will have no doubts about it. Pay attention to the color of the blemish you are concerned about. If it is a flat spot with a reddish color we are probably talking about PIE. On the contrary, if the tone of the spot is much darker and tends to a more brown color, we are talking about PIH.
After a first visual evaluation, there may still be some doubts. If so, press or squeeze the blemish for a second. Release the pressure and see if the spot has disappeared for a moment. If not, it is definitely PIH. If it disappears for a moment and then reappears, there is no doubt that it is PIE.

PIE
POST-INFLAMMATORY ERYTHEMA

Post-Inflammatory Erythema are pink to reddish spots that appear after irritation or inflammatory acne. When your skin has a bacterial infection such as acne, blood circulation in the area of the comedo is increased and the body, as a natural response, sends more blood to the inflamed area in order to fight it, as if it were a wound.
